Antalya in winter: weather, what's open and long stays
Mild days, citrus on the trees and a city that keeps living after the summer crowds leave.
By the IONETO Antalya team · Published 8 November 2026

In short: Antalya is mild in winter. Average daytime highs are around 14–16°C from December to February, and the sea stays around 17–19°C. Expect more rain than in summer (roughly 12–13 days with some rain a month) but also plenty of sunny days. Antalya is a large city, so museums, the old town, restaurants, markets and transport keep running all year.

What's open in winter?
Unlike small resort villages, Antalya is a working city of more than two million people, so daily life does not stop in November. Kaleiçi, Antalya Museum, Konyaaltı's promenade, the Düden waterfalls, shopping centres, markets and most restaurants stay open. The archaeological sites such as Perge and Aspendos open all year, with shorter winter hours.
What changes: many large all-inclusive resorts in Lara, Belek and Side close or run reduced services, some beach clubs shut, and boat trips run less often and depend on the weather. Rafting and the island boat trips are mostly a spring-to-autumn activity.
Things to do in winter

- Walk Kaleiçi without the summer crowds; see our Kaleiçi walking guide.
- Visit the ancient cities when it is pleasant to walk: Perge, Aspendos and Side.
- Walk or cycle Konyaaltı with snow on the mountains behind on clear days.
- Eat citrus season: oranges, mandarins and bitter oranges (turunç) fill the markets.
- Hike in the Taurus foothills or on sections of the Lycian Way in dry spells.
Long stays and remote work
Winter is when many people come for a month or more. Prices for apartments and guesthouses are usually lower than in summer, cafés are quieter and the city has the services of a big place: hospitals, co-working spaces, an international airport and good public transport. Konyaaltı and the centre are popular for long stays because you can live without a car. For visas and practical tips, see digital nomad life in Antalya.
What to pack
Layers rather than one heavy coat: a warm jumper, a light waterproof jacket, closed shoes and an umbrella. Bring warm clothes for indoors if you are renting an older flat. Sunscreen still matters on bright days.
Meet people over the winter
Winter is the best time to join local life. IONETO is setting up conversation clubs and community meet-ups in Antalya: seafront walks, book chats and language tables. As our motto says, mutlu insan dünyayı aydınlatır: a happy person lights up the world, and winter is easier with good company.
