Digital nomad life in Antalya
Sea on one side, mountains on the other and an airport down the road: why remote workers are choosing Antalya.
By the IONETO Antalya team · Published 8 November 2026

In short: Antalya works well for remote workers: mild winters, a large city with good services, an international airport and a big foreign community. Turkey launched a digital nomad visa in 2024 for citizens of a list of countries, with requirements including age 21–55, a university degree and income of at least US$3,000 a month. Most nomads base themselves in Konyaaltı or the centre and build community through language tables and meet-ups.
Visa basics
When Turkey announced its digital nomad visa in April 2024, the published requirements included:
- Citizenship of one of the eligible countries (32 at launch).
- Age 21 to 55.
- A university degree.
- Proof of remote work for a company or clients outside Turkey.
- Income of at least US$3,000 a month or US$36,000 a year.
Applications start on the government's Digital Nomad (GoTürkiye) pre-application platform and continue at a consulate or visa centre. Rules, fees and the country list can change, so check official government sources before you plan. Many visitors instead stay within their normal visa-free or e-visa allowance; know your limit.
Where to live
- Konyaaltı: the beach promenade for runs and walks, cafés, supermarkets and the tram. The most popular choice.
- Centre / near Kaleiçi: walkable and lively; older buildings, so check heating, noise and internet.
- Lara: newer apartments, quieter, close to the airport.
Rent short-term for the first weeks, then choose. Ask landlords about internet speed, heating and air conditioning before you sign.
Where to work

Antalya has co-working spaces and many cafés where laptops are welcome, especially in the centre and Konyaaltı. For calls, a co-working desk or a quiet home office is more reliable than a café. A local SIM with a generous data plan is a good backup for home internet.
Getting around

The tram and city buses connect the centre, Konyaaltı, the bus station and the airport side of town. Many nomads live without a car and rent one for weekend trips to Kemer, Olympos or the ancient cities. The airport is about 12 km from the centre, which makes short trips home or around the region easy.
Seasons
Spring and autumn are ideal: warm, bright and good for hiking. Summer is hot and busy, with resort prices. Winter is mild (daytime highs around 14–16°C from December to February) and rents are usually lower; many long-stayers arrive in October and stay until spring. See Antalya in winter.
Finding community
Working remotely can be lonely. The quickest ways in:
- Language tables: practise Turkish and meet locals at the Antalya speaking club.
- Weekly meet-ups: seafront walks and book chats on the community page.
- Courses: cooking or photography in Kaleiçi; see courses in Antalya.
- Outdoors: cycling, hiking and diving groups.
A weekly rhythm that works
Work mornings while your clients' time zones allow, walk Konyaaltı at lunch, join a language table one evening a week, and keep weekends for the coast: a boat day, Köprülü Canyon, or Perge, Aspendos and Side. IONETO's motto is mutlu insan dünyayı aydınlatır, a happy person lights up the world, and a good routine is where that starts.
