Antalya boat trip: Düden Waterfall and Kaleiçi

The highlight is Lower Düden Waterfall, where the Düden river drops roughly 40 metres off the cliff straight into the sea, and the best view is from the water. Short harbour cruises show the falls and turn back; longer routes add a swim stop. Not every route goes as far as Lara, so mention Düden when you send your request.

Suluada boat trip

Suluada is a rocky island off Adrasan in Kumluca district, often photographed for its clear, pale turquoise water. Boats usually leave Adrasan beach in the morning, stop for swims around the bays and the island, and return in the late afternoon. Adrasan is a drive from Antalya city, so packages with hotel pick-up start early. There are no facilities on the island, so bring water and sun protection.

Köprülü Canyon rafting

Köprülü Canyon National Park was declared in 1973 and lies within Manavgat district. Rafting takes place on the Köprüçay river; the area around the Roman-era Oluk Bridge is a common starting point for beginners. Guides give a safety briefing and provide helmets and life jackets. Rules for non-swimmers and children vary by provider, so include ages in your request. Bring a change of clothes and a towel: you will get wet.

Perge, Aspendos and Side: ancient cities tour

Perge is in Aksu district, about 17 km east of the city centre. With its long colonnaded street, theatre and stadium it was one of the leading cities of Pamphylia, and many statues from its theatre are displayed in Antalya Museum. Day tours often combine Perge with the theatre at Aspendos in Serik and with Side in Manavgat. Shade is scarce: bring a hat, water and comfortable shoes, and go early in summer.
