Diving in Antalya: where to dive and how to start
Clear water, rocky reefs and wrecks: what to know before your first dive on the Antalya coast.
By the IONETO Antalya team · Published 8 November 2026

In short: the main diving areas near Antalya are around Kemer, with Kaş further west known for some of Turkey's best dives. Beginners can try a guided try-dive with no experience; a certification course takes a few days. The season runs from spring to autumn, when the water is warmest.
Where to dive
- Kemer: dive centres run boat dives to rocky reefs and bays, close to Antalya.
- Kaş: clear water, walls and wrecks; a destination in itself (see Antalya to Kaş).
Try-dive or course?

A try-dive is a short, shallow dive with an instructor after a briefing, ideal to see whether you enjoy it. A beginner certification course takes a few days and lets you dive with a buddy afterwards. Details on the scuba diving course page.
Season and water
From late spring to autumn the sea is warm and visibility is usually good; summer is busiest. Wetsuits are provided.
Safety
- Choose a dive centre with certified instructors and small groups.
- Declare health conditions honestly; a medical form may be required.
- Don't fly within 24 hours after diving.
- Respect marine life: don't touch or take anything.
