In short: Fethiye in winter is quiet, mild and good for walking. In November the average daytime high is around 18°C and the sea is still around 20°C, with about nine rainy days in the month. Many beach businesses close after the season, but Fethiye town, its restaurants and the weekly market carry on as normal.

December to February are cooler and wetter, with sunny days in between. Snow can sit on the top of Babadağ while the harbour is in sunshine.
What is open
Fethiye town is a working town all year: shops, restaurants, the fish market and the weekly market stay open. In Ölüdeniz and Hisarönü many hotels, bars and beach clubs close for the winter, so check before you book. Boat trips run less often or stop until spring.
What to do in winter
- Hike the Lycian Way. Cooler days are the best time for the Kayaköy to Ölüdeniz section.
